Biosph\u00e4renreservat<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Das UNESCO-Biosph\u00e4renreservat St. Mary\u2019s auf St. Kitts wurde 2011 anerkannt. Es umfasst 4.040 Hektar mit Nebelw\u00e4ldern, Mangroven, Korallenriffen und wichtigen Niststr\u00e4nden der Lederschildkr\u00f6te. Zum Reservat geh\u00f6rt auch der historische Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, eine UNESCO-Welterbest\u00e4tte. Das Gebiet verbindet den Schutz biologischer Vielfalt mit dem Erhalt des kulturellen Erbes. Die Koordinatorin des Gebiets ist Telca Wallace, die uns die Region und ihre Menschen sehr nah brachte und zur Freundin wurde.
