Zudem geben wir einen R\u00fcckblick auf das, was wir noch in Antigua erlebt haben, wie zum Beispiel das kleine Museum im UNESCO Weltkulturerbe Nelson&#8217;s Dockyard, der Reparatur der Solaranlage der gr\u00f6\u00dften Fregattvogel-Kolonien der westlichen Hemisph\u00e4re. Im Frigat Bird Sanctuary in der Cordington-Lagune leben das ganze Jahr \u00fcber Tausende dieser V\u00f6gel. Die Fl\u00fcgelspannweite betr\u00e4gt je nach Art zwischen 1,80 und 2,50 Meter! Die Brutpflege der Fregattv\u00f6gel geh\u00f6rt zu den l\u00e4ngsten und intensivsten im gesamten Vogelreich. Da die Aufzucht eines einzelnen K\u00fcckens fast ein Jahr dauert, k\u00f6nnen die Weibchen meist nur alle zwei Jahre ein Ei legen. Beide Elternteile br\u00fcten bis zu 55 Tage das Ei aus. Nach dem Schl\u00fcpfen des nackten K\u00fcckens wird es 6 Wochen lang st\u00e4ndig bewacht. Es bleibt dann etwa 5 bis 6 Monate im Nest bis es fl\u00fcgge ist. Nach etwa drei Monaten zieht sich das M\u00e4nnchen von der F\u00fctterung oft zur\u00fcck, w\u00e4hrend das Weibchen noch weiter 5 bis 14 Monate f\u00fcttert! Jahrhunderts. Die Anlage zeigt die koloniale Seefahrtsgeschichte der Karibik. Im Dockyard Museum sieht man Schiffsmodelle, historische Funde, man erf\u00e4hrt \u00fcber das Leben von Admiral Nelson, der jedoch nur kurz auf Antigua war, die royal Navy und seit kurzem auch vom Leben der Sklaven und den &#8222;King`s Negroes&#8220;. Diese waren versklavte Afrikaner, die direkt der britischen Krone beziehungsweise der Royal Navy geh\u00f6rten. Sie arbeiteten als hochqualifizierte Handwerker, Schiffszimmerleute, Arbeiter und Hafenmeister, ohne sie lief nichts in der Marina. Sie lebten in einer eigenen Siedlung au\u00dferhalb der Dockyards (siehe Text oben).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Weiter Eindr\u00fccke unsere
